Let’s Clean Up Our Schools Day (LCUOSD) is a day of volunteerism and an opportunity for local community members take part in creating healthy learning environments for young children.

In its second year, Let’s Clean Up Our Schools Day will be taking place on Saturday, September 15th, 2007 at 9 grammar schools across the state of NJ.

We are organizing local community members, inviting Starbucks customers, and partners to participate in cleaning local grammar schools in a program that is specifically tailored to the individual school’s needs. i.e.: Gardening, cleaning, painting, murals, playgrounds, organization, and general school grounds maintenance.

At each site, we will be serving fresh brewed Starbucks Coffee in the morning and coordinating lunch, beverages and snacks throughout the day.

Donations made through Starbucks Make Your Mark Program benefit Room to Read, a nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing schools, libraries, and other educational infrastructures in the developing world.
